Why do you need my passport information?

When you apply for a course, you will be asked to fill in your passport number and to upload a copy of the front page of your passport. The reason for this is that we have to provide you with a Solis ID. This ID gives you access to many of the university’s systems such as Blackboard, EduRoam, (statistical) programmes; but also the Wi-Fi in your student room (if you join a course on location). 

For the university to provide you with a Solis ID, it is obligatory to validate your personal details with your passport details. After validation, your passport copy will be destroyed within a year.

Do you already have a Solis ID of the Utrecht University? You can fill in your Solis ID in your application and upload a 'blank' document.
